When you're driving the world's first 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 that's been taken into the 9s quarter mile area, what can you do to prove your car's muscle?
Racing a Lamborghini Huracan would probably be a good idea and this is probably what the man behind the wheel of the 'Vette in the video below thought.
The guy found a Huracan and raced it from a roll, with the battle keeping us on our toes. While we won't mention the details here, we can tell you this much: keep in mind that the Lambo has the traction advantage, while the Z06 comes with extra oomph.
We have to explain that, while the Huracan was in stock, 610 hp form, the Corvette was modified and we're not referring to a simple tune here.
In fact, we are talking about what Corvette enthusiasts know as the fasterproms 2015 Corvette Z06. This is the kind of supercar you'll always find labeled under "Work in progress", but, at the time of the race, it featured a list of bolt-ons.
Here is the full list of goodies received by that blown 6.2-liter V8 under this Corvette's hood.
- Custom tune by Jeremy Formato
- Custom 2.31 pulley
- Ported Supercharger
- Modified air box, and air duct with modified AFE CAI
- Thermal reduction plates That reduce blower heat soak
- Flex fuel kit- This is a flex fuel sensor that we make to allow us to run on blended e85/pump gas
- 1.5Gal Expansion tank tank for greater supercharge coolant capacity
- ARH 1.875 headers
This video might fuel your curiosity about what can be done to a Huracan when the tuners go full throttle. And Undeground Racing's twin-turbo Huracan should answer that question. Yes, the monster does travel north of the 2,000 hp border and the project is still young.
