By now, anybody with an Internet connection at least a slight interest in automobiles has seen the 992 Porsche 911. The 2020 Neunelfer landed at the Los Angeles Motor Show earlier this week, with the sportscar coming in Carrera S and Carrera 4S Coupe forms for now. However, the time has come to look into the future and talk about the special version of the eight-gen 911.
You see, while we were all staring at the not-taht-different styling of the 2020 911, Porsche engineers were out testing the 2020 911 Turbo and the 2020 911 GT3 (check out the links for spy material and more info on each model).

We'll get to meet the standard, non-S Carreras in 2019, while the second half of the year will bring us the Turbo and the GT3.

Nevertheless, we can now talk about the 992 Porsche 911 GT3 RS and we've brought along a rendering of the Rennsport toy.

The pixel play we have here does a pretty good job at portraying the next 3RS. The image borrows multiple elements for the current model, namely the exhaust layout, rear wing, engine cover, rear wing air intakes, the front wing air extractors, the wheels and, of course, the decals on the side of the vehicle.

Note that the render does include the magnesium wheels, but we can't say the same thing about the Weissach Package (there's no visible carbon on the roof).

Sure, it's too early to be certain about the tech side of the future 911 GT3 RS, but we're expecting this to maintain the configuration of the current car, mixing a naturally aspirated flat-six with a PDK-only setup.

For one thing, the 992 GT3 will come with an atmospheric engine, while once again offering a manual as an option (the PDK is obviously on the list), with this having been confirmed by the soundtrack of various test cars.

The 2019 GT3 RS has stunned us with its Nurburgring lap time - keep in mind that we're talking about a 520 hp vehicle that can blitz the Green Hell in 6:56. So we're expecting the next one to also be a blast.

Speaking of which, we're curious to see how the Zuffenhausen engineers work to compensate for the 50+ kg weight gain of the 992.

Meanwhile, you can indulge in the aero-dictated lines of the rendering below. Or you can check out this Cabriolet rendering.
