The fall is a particularly interesting season for the Dodge Demon, since the cooler weather should allow the Mopar king to make better use of its muscle. And it all has to do with the official 9.65-second quarter-mile time of the muscle car.
Sure, Dodge did release a time slip with the said number, but no owner has been able to match the performance. In fact, the quickest 1,320 feet Demon sprint to date sits at 8.8 seconds. And it's no secret that owners who don't warm up their Nitto drag radials properly can easily fall into the 10-second area.

However, there are also Demon drivers who aren't willing to sit around and wait for the weather to bring them closer to the factory 1/4-mile target. These are the aficionados who have taken their Challengers down the aftermarket path.

And you'll find one of these massaged Demons in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page.

Note that we're looking at the first Dodge Demon to have descended into the 8s arena - this slab of America managed to complete the quarter-mile game in 8.99 seconds at 154 mph, with the feat having taken place back in September.

Well, the piece of footage we have here allows us to check out the muscle beast stretching its legs at the drag strip.

The driver was planning to once again deliver an 8s stunt, but things didn't work out. Following multiple supercharger-only runs, the man went on to use the nitrous (more on this below), but he could only complete one such run before the drag strip closed for the day.

Nevertheless, we're certain that this mean machine will strike again. After all, the thing does pack a 75 nitrous shot, along with upgrades that target the blower pulley, the exhaust and the injectors.

The 6.2-liter HEMI of the animal now delivers around 1,100 horsepower on boost alone, with the nitrous adding at least 100 ponies.

Meanwhile, we'll remind you that the current Dodge Demon quarter-mile record sits at 8.816 seconds, with a trap speed of 162.66 mph. Then again, those numbers were delivered by a twin-turbo incarnation of the car, one that also packs a hefty carbon fiber diet.
