Back in August we were telling you about one of the most complete and probably the most headache-inducing tuning projects for an AMG car we had ever seen.
A few months ago, a Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series owner from the UAE went to the German tuning specialists at GAD Tuning and had a peculiar request: to transform his car from a monster to the absolute fastest street-legal AMG car on the planet.
While squeezing insane amount of power from an already powerful engine is something that can be done at almost any self-respecting tuning shop, the peeps from GAD Tuning went a couple of steps further and decided to completely transform the car.
First, they took the legendary and soon-to-be replaced M156 engine out and replaced it with the twin-turbocharged M157 V8 for other reasons than you might imagine.
Those reasons were because the M157, apart from being twin-turbocharged - so much easier to tune - can also be fitted with a transmission that can have a transfer case connected to its side.
With the transmission modified by GAD engineers to support up to 1500 Nm (1106 lb ft) of torque, the new C 63 AMG Black Series is now a 4Matic all-wheel drive monster that can pulverize SLS AMG's from both a rolling and a standing start.
We are talking about 850 hp, 1350 Nm (996 lb ft) of torque and 4Matic all-wheel drive. This translates into a time of just 3.1 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph), 8.8 seconds from 0 to 200 km/h (124 mph) and 23.5 seconds from 0 to 300 km/h (186 mph).
All this extraordinary modifications come at a rather steep price though, as GAD Motors is asking no less than EUR 180,250 for the conversion, not including the base Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe Black Series.
