840 HP McLaren 12C Canyon Run Gives Matt Farah Some Crazy Giggles

As those of you following the supercar realm closely know, the vast majority of McLaren technical tuning packages are limited to an exhaust and perhaps a mild ECU tune.

Well, Charlotte-based Hypercar Development apparently hasn't heard of these limitations, with their 12C packages... kicking off at 800-plus ponies - the company has taken things to 1,200 hp so far, aiming for 1,500+ hp.

We're here to show you the real world face of such a machine, with the piece of footage below allowing us to understand what happens when such an extra-mayo Big Mac goes for some canyon carving.

The pumped-up 12C is the toy featured in Matt Farah's latest One Take adventure. Perhaps the most important part of the drive comes towards the end of the clip, where The Smoking Tire man delivers his conclusions on the drivability of the thing - we won't ruin the fun of the video by dropping too many spoilers, so we'll just mention things are in check.

We're not sure what to make of the transmission conclusions, though. While this car obviously misses out on the numerous small steps the British automaker has introduced in the evolution of its seven-speed, dual-clutch gearbox, the tuner's representative, who uses his poker face throughout the length of his shotgun ride, claims the aftermarket developer can also cover this.

The supercar you see here has kept its stock turbos, but going from 616 to 837 hp at the crank wasn't exactly a walk in the park. Still, the turbos are the ones installed at the Woking factory, but the cooling department has seen hefty upgrades.
