800 HP Porsche 911 Turbo from Switzer

American tuner Switzer Performance has just released a monster tuning package for the Porsche 911 Turbo AWD. The mod kit named P800 was tested by Switzer earlier in June on the GT2 and received many praises, but now customers requested the same powerful mod for the more controllable AWD 911 Turbo.

The Ohio-based tuning firm claim some staggering performance figures including a 0 to 60 mph time of just under 3 seconds and the quarter mile time “consistently under 10.5 seconds”. Tym Switzer and his crew's main recipe for the 800 hp tuning kit focuses on the two custom built GT30 turbochargers and Switzer's “competition-style” exhaust and headers.

Because the two GT30 turbochargers with custom billet compressor wheels on ball-bearing center sections in lightweight stainless housings produce so much heat, Switzer installed its own high-performance intercoolers, suggestively called the MONSTER series.

The P800 tuning kit also includes an upgraded carbon clutch package, electronic boost control and remapped ECU software. Tym Switzer explained that the 997TT-based P800 does not require a new intake manifold or upgraded throttle-body like the GT2 did.

“Porsche developed a model-specific intake manifold for the GT2, which worked perfectly with the stock VTGs, but didn't flow enough for the GT30Rs. The 997TT just doesn't have that problem, which is great because it's easier to install, and saves the customer some money, too," Tym Switzer said.

Switzer will offer the upgrade for the 911 Turbo Porsche in 5 stages and despite the fact the 800 HP package will only be available in the US and that its price hasn't been disclosed yet, we can tell you that the stage 4 performance kit called the “L4” which boosts the power to 750 HP can be purchased for $20,995.
