We're tired of seeing people rolling coal. If they want to go fast in something that's not supposed to, why don't they build something like this Jeep Grand Cherokee here?
Over in Russia, people race these all the time against Mercedes-AMGs, BMW Ms, and Audi RS models. However, America isn't in love with the mighty Jeep as much.
Not only is it fast, but this SRT8 model is an eye catcher too, with its orange paint looking like a poison dart frog. A stock one of these would have been fast, but not fast enough for the drag strip. So the owner sent it to AD Motorsportz in Chicago, where the 392 motor was pushed to 800 horsepower.
You probably can't hear it over the sound of the exhaust, but this V8 engine has been hooked up to a custom single-turbo kit worth about $13,000 plus installation. It will bring the stock SRT8 quarter-mile time of 13.3 seconds down to just 11-something.
At the core of the package is a Borg Warner Air Werks S400SX3-75 / S475 Turbo (T4 Turbine) with a TurboSmart 60mm wastegate and Tial blow off valve. They've also worked on letting the SRT8 engine vent a little easier with a custom 3-inch stainless steel manifold, 3.5-inch downpipe and an aftermarket cat-back exhaust.
Of course, no self-respecting mod would be complete without the obligatory K&N air filter, larger injectors, 4.5-inch thick intercooler, and dyno tuning.
Sadly, the kit is complex enough that it can only be fitted at AC Motorsportz. So you Russian SRT8 fanatics will have to figure out something else. If you're wondering why Jaime's truck makes 800whp while AC's version has about 600, that's because it also features an E85 tune by HP Tuners.
Down below, you'll be able to watch the orange SUV lining up against Turbo Diesel trucks, a turbo F-150 and even a Mustang at the No Prep Grudge event where Jaime's truck took first in the AWD class.
