800 HP Audi 80 vs. Audi Quattro, a Wacky Swedish Street Race

We want to bring you into the heart of the Swedish street racing world once again and we're here to see which machine dominates the small tire class.

As we've explained in the past, the small circle represented by the street racing community of the country means these outlaws can keep things organized. There's even an unofficial annual trophy (the Valhallah Cup), while the participating contraptions are split according to their tire size.

We've already shown you a boxy Volvo motivated by a turbo LS7 dominating the big tire class and now the time has come to zoom in on the small tire category. This is where an Audi 80 that has been brought incredibly far from its factory shape seems to reign.

This B2 Audi 80 is a 1980s machine that has been gifted with no less than 800 horses. To keep all that power under control, this build comes with a heavily modified quattro all-wheel-drive system, one that's strong enough to let the owner warm up all four-tires with uber-violent launches.

The clip below allows us to see the monster 80 duking it out with multiple machines, but two particular competitors have drawn our attention.

We mentioned the first in the title - the Audi Quattro may be a legend, but, back in the day, 200 hp were enough for such a status, as the AWD was the main focus of the vehicle.

And while the example seen here has been modified, this is no match for the insane Audi 80s we described above. Interestingly, though, we can't say the same about an Opel Monza packing a small block and a 125 shot of nitrous.

The 80s Opel may only have 550 hp and rear-wheel-drive, but its lighter configuration allows it to put up quite a fight. Oh, and the setup also sees the Opel wrestling four strong men during an otherwise successful burnout attempt.
