750 HP BMW 150i Mixes M5 V10 with G-Power Bi-Compressor Kit, Goes Drag Racing

When the BMW 1 Series was born about one decade ago, the idea of a modern-era rear-wheel-drive hatchback was crazy enough to give the compact Bavarian a distinct personality.

However, certain owners felt the need for extra layers of insanity, which led to contraptions such as last year's... 150i, an E87 1 Series gifted with a 5.0-liter V10 unit borrowed from an E60 M5.

It appears the result wasn't looney enough for the crew who put the machine together, so there's a new setup for 2016. KJ-Performance, the aftermarket developer that handled the build has turned to German tuner G-Power for a supercharger kit.

However, this isn't your average let's-strap-a-blower-and-call-it-a-day move. Oh no. Instead, we're looking at a twin charger setup here. As a result, the V10 now allows the driver to play with no less than 750 hp. And since we're talking about supercharging, the response is instantaneous. As for the soundtrack of the E87, let's just say this is a hell of an opinion splitter.

While we'd love to see this Frankenbimmer in action at a track day, for now we'll have to quench our performance thirst with some drag racing. The 150i G-Power (the name alone is enough to tell you this is a force to be reckoned with) has taken part in a recent event called Rolling50 Deutsche Meisterschaft.

The hostilities took place on the Dekra Highspeed Oval Lausitzring in Germany, involving 400-meter (almost a quarter mile) duels that, as the name explains, use a 50 km/h (31 mph) rolling start.

As April weather likes to prank us throughout the month, the event saw the cars duking it out under heavy rain, which only made things more interesting for the driver of the 1er. Truth be told, it doesn't seem like the BMW is putting all its power down, as you'll be able to notice in the clip below.
