Two years ago, ABT decided the Audi RS6 needed more power, so the German tuner came up with the RS6-R, a station wagon packing no less than 730 hp and 678 lb-ft (920 Nm) of torque.
Now, most see the RS6, be it stock or modded, as a vehicle for Autobahn cruises and straight line adventures in general. Most people who have that view are terrified by the station wagon's two-ton scale footprint.

Well, that's just not true, with the RS6 having what it takes to deliver some delicious drifting, especially in the wet. And the piece of footage at the bottom of the page delivers the perfect example of this.

The video shows us an RS6-R doing the sideways stuff on a slightly wet Franciacorta track. And despite the Italian adventure seen here being a short one, it can easily serve as a performance driving lesson. A valuable one, that is.

The man behind the wheel is slip angle aficionado Powerslide Lover and while we've criticized his LaFerrari stunts for being done in traffic, we have nothing but words of praise for such episodes taking place on the circuit.

Since the all-wheel-drive system of the RS6 isn't rear biased enough to allow drifting "directly", the driver turns to the good old Scandinavian flick. Nevertheless, in order to feel the grip and the intentions of the admittedly heavy car, he goes for a progressive approach that requires more than a single jump from one side to the other.

Once the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 under the hood is put to sideways work, it's all a matter of using both the wheel and the gas to steer the car, with the resulting angles being about as great as possible given the nature of the vehicle.

What makes this episode even more spectacular is the fact that we're talking about a limited edition tuner car, with ABT having only built 25 examples of the RS6-R (not including further special editions).
