It's the case of around 7000 KTM bikes in the 2012/2013 series, which are about to be recalled in dealerships and authorized workshops for some "minor surgery". KTM has traced the problem back to a parts supplier: one of the molded fuel hoses could rupture in some places and this could cause a major fire hazard.

The incident has not occurred yet, but KTM recalls the bikes as a precautionary move, to eliminate all the potential risks. The Austrian manufacturer will contact the bike owners but you can just enter the frame number on the official KTM website and check if your motorcycle needs this operation.

Replacing the hose will take around 30 minutes, and the operation will be carried out by any KTM dealer on the company's expense. The bikes with this problem are the 2012 250 EXC-F Six Days, 250 SX-F, 350 EXC-F, 350 SX-F, Freeride 350, 450 EXC, 500 EXC, and the 2013 450 EXC and 500 EXC.
