Tesla Model S is not your average sedan, thanks to blistering fast acceleration from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in P85D version, but then again, it's size and four door config don't make it your dream race track car.
Sure, Elon Musk's beloved sedan proved to be a beast on the drag course so far, with big names being left behind by the electric vehicle from its launch until the present day.
Recently, we saw the Model S can also autocross, but today's video is about a Model S P85D leaving a 4.6L Turbo Mustang choking in the dust on the Piedmont drag course.
Just before the duel, the Mustang shows off by spinning its rear wheels for a smoke-wrapped burnout, but the driver behind the wheel in the Tesla Model S was probably calm and collected, knowing he has enough electrical firepower to teach the Mustang a lesson. We guess it's true what they say, he who laughs last laughs best, and drag races make no exception.
The video is shot from several different angles but no matter which point of view you look from, the race's outcome is the same: the Model S is a clear winner on this occasion, but who knows, maybe the one driving the Mustang would call for a rematch.
