One of the greatest issues with making racing popular for people outside the world of motorsport is capturing the thrill one gets inside the cabin and spreading it out to the whole world.
However, when you have a 360-degree view of a racing event, things get a bit more attractive for those watching at home. This is exactly what happens in the clip below, which allows you to get inside a McLaren 12C that races a C6 generation Corvette Z06.

The battle took place over the weekend at the Omega Motorsports Half Mile Race, which was held at the Gila Bend Air Strip in Arizona.

The Mac in question packs a turboback, decatted ArmyTrix exhaust, as well as an ECU remap, with the British supercar now delivering around 700 hp. As for the ‘Vette, nothing is mentioned about the modifications that could’ve been brought to the 7 liters of America under the hood.

The driver of the McLaren talks a little bit about the experience: “The format of the event was really just to have fun, which I thoroughly liked.  No trophies, no d*&k swinging, just enthusiasts out to run their cars.  You line up in 2 lines and go against whoever or you can arrange your runs.

This was the guy’s first run and he managed to take the McLaren up to 151 mph (that’s 243 km/h for you people reading this on the Old Continent).

In theory, the lighter British machine should’ve eaten the ‘Vette alive, but things didn’t quite happen that way. Once again, we're curious about what tricks the LS7 heart of that Corvette has learned after leaving the factory. However, we don’t want to ruin the fun by telling you what happen in the video, which is why we’re inviting you to click the “play” button below and make use of that 360-degree function.
