Various tuners out there can provide a lot of extra grunt for your car if they know what they’re doing and if you’re willing to risk it. On lesser cars, this risk might be bigger than on others that proved they have the best transmissions and engines in the world, year after year.
We’re talking about BMWs, of course, and their world renowned powertrains. Their latest super-sedan is the F10 M5 that has a claimed power reading of 560 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque at the crank.
However, independent readings showed otherwise. The guys from DigiServices put it on the dyno and their results showed that the Bimmer has 545 HP and 720 Nm (531 lb-ft) of torque, at the wheels! That translates into even bigger numbers at the crank. Our guess is around 630 HP and 830 Nm (612 lb-ft) of torque.
They took it even further, though. With some careful tuning and a quick ECU remap the car put down 673 WHP and 857 Nm(632 lb-ft) of torque at the wheels, meaning that, at the crank, it would be making 774 HP and 985 Nm (726 lb-ft) of torque.
Of course, they also changed the exhaust and downpipes to better cope with the extra fumes produced by the added boost, but the end result is absolutely impressive.
Taking it on a limitless highway afterwards, they noticed that the reprogrammed M5 was capable of going from 100 km/h (62 mph) to 200 km/h (124 mph) in just 7.1 seconds. Don’t believe us? Check out the video below!
