When they get their hands through whatever means on a small fortune, people tend to go out and buy themselves the newest stuff around. But if by some miracle exactly $64,900 were to fall into my lap, I’d blow them all on this 1954 Chevrolet 3100. In a heartbeat.
Throughout November and well into December, autoevolution’s special coverages brought to our attention a long list of extraordinary pickups. And we’re not talking about the new, insanely advanced ones being made today, but about those from the past, brought back to life by talented garages across America.
Chevy, with its many past car and truck models, was a favorite make featured in our stories, and it will probably be so for a while longer, because there's no shortage of custom bowties.
We haven’t seen this here truck in person (yet), so we have no idea if it looks as great in real life as it does in the attached photos. Chances are it does, and that means this is a stunning find.
The result of a restoration process that left it looking better than ever before, the pickup is sitting patiently on a dealer’s lot, waiting for someone to come along and pay $64,900 to take it home. True, that’s more than the price of most new trucks out there, more than a brand new Corvette, even, but it seems to be worth every cent of that.
Sporting red all over the body and chrome in strategic locations, it comes with a black and grey interior that looks anything but the inside of a decades-old machine: black bucket seats, Dakota Digital gauge, and an aftermarket audio system.
Get the massive hood out of the way and you’re treated to a remade 350ci (5.7-liter) V8 looking clean and polished. It is linked to a 4-speed automatic transmission and breathes through a dual exhaust system, but we are not being told how much power it develops.
