650 hp Crammed in the CL 65 Coupe by Kicherer

Kicherer wants to stand out from the other tuners, and that's a tough thing to do considering that the German market is absolutely packed with companies that do a very good job. They decided to go with the class and performance of a Mercedes CL 65 Coupe but, unsatisfied with a stock ride, they put their skills to the test.

Considering that the car has been touted as the greatest coupe ever to leave the Mercedes factory, Kicherer certainly had their hands full with this one but we get the feeling that they chose this car especially for that reason, just so they can show their mettle.

The V12 engine that put out 612 hp and 450 kW with 1000 Nm of torque was further tuned to give it 38 more horsepower, bringing the grand total to a nice, round figure: 650 hp. The other figures on the engine were also obviously modified and right now read as follows: 486 kW and 1200 Nm which can propel the car from nought to 60 miles per hour in 4.2 seconds and tops at 320 km/h (speed is electronically limited).

The other modifications made to this car can be seen on the exterior body work. Carbon fiber mirror shells, a rear diffuser, front grille and a front apron have been added to the stock version to make it stand out.

The wheels had to be a custom design of course, a RS-X Kicherer 20-inch model. The exhaust system has now a mirror-shine on each of its four tailpipes and has been tuned to make a sound that will surely scare some innocent bystanders.

But once you step inside the car, you realize the work that has been put into this car. The whole interior was redone in alcantara leather for the ceiling, napa leather for the seats and shag pile for the rug. Add some carbon fiber insertions and you're there ... in paradise, because that exactly what this car should feel like once you step inside.
