What in the world could determine you to drive around in an old Volvo nicknamed Motherfucker Jones? Well, the sleeper benefits should serve as a pretty good answer to that question, at least if we ask the driver in the clip below.
Truth be told, the Volvo in question does act like a Horrible Boss - the name of the movie that generated the “Motherfucker Jones” line, which is used to describe things that are not what they seem.
For one thing, this lump of Swedish metal drag races a Lamborghini Huracan and wins. At first, the supercar gets ahead by about three car lengths, but as the Volvo manages to find traction, it shows the Lambo its rear end.
The Volvo also devours a pair of Corvettes in its thirst for sleeper glory. We’re talking about two modified ‘Vettes, a C6 and a C7. However, even with the Thor machine's weight advantage, the race against the C7 Corvette still seems a bit odd (you'll understand when checking out the clip).
Nevertheless, we want to talk about the car’s technical side. That boxy engine compartment now hosts an LSX, which has been taken down the turbo route. What we have here is a 6-liter V8 working with a 70-mm turbine that delivers 11 lbs of boost, with this resulting in an output of about 600 HP at the rear wheels.
The best part of it all is that the owner claims the turbine is a $200 job coming from eBay. And yes, the guy is extra-proud of this piece of trolling tech development.
Regardless, further down the power line we find a Turbo 400 automatic tranny, as well as a good old Ford rear end.
Sure, most Volvo sleepers come in station wagon form and yet we don’t see how somebody could deny the MF Jones status of this machine.
