For most of us, the Chevrolet El Camino is a classic ride rappers modify with the weirdest tuning bits. Most of us have seized to believe that the American car maker could ever put the famous model back in production. But not this little fellow, who believes that an online petition addressed to the GM CEO Mary Barra could revive the model.
It was about 28 years ago when the last G-Body El Caminos would roll off the assembly line, but 6-year old Rafael Barkan loves the car so much, he wants it back on the market.

He first saw an El Camino at the Autry Museum’s Route 66 exhibit last summer. It was Chevy day and local club member brought their classics out to show. Rafael instantly fell in love with the El Camino, because ‘it’s a muscle car and a truck’,” the young petrol head’s dad Steve explained.

The funny part is that the two, who live in Southern California, don’t even have to rely on a car to commute. What’s even funnier is that Steve is not even much of a car guy either.

The kid’s auto obsession started when a Mustang owner who lives close to their home started gifting him with Hot Wheels scale models. Since the man saw Rafael’s big interest for his cars, he ended up giving quite a stash of the miniature Mustangs.

So what do you do when you wish something as a kid? You ask for it, of course

According to BestRide, Rafael wrote a letter to GM CEO Marry Barra and started collecting signatures. His dad also helped him put the letter in a petition form online. This way, El Camino fans can also express their wishes and sign it themselves.

How cool is this kid, right? (And his father, for that matter.)
