In a time when anybody who’s somebody is getting tied up with streaming giant Netflix, it was only a matter of time until American filmmaker Michael Bay joined the list. The man behind the Transformers franchise is coming to Netflix this December, in an action-packed vigilante movie titled 6 Underground.
The movie follows the story of six billionaires, led by One (Ryan Reynolds) who fake their deaths so that they can pursue notorious criminals and kill them for real. As you might have guessed, being a billionaire gives you access to a whole lot of expensive toys, and a bunch of them can be seen in the trailer released this week.
And by toys we don’t necessarily mean the high-tech weaponry used to take down bad guys, but also (and mostly) the cars used.
After watching the trailer several times, we were able to identify about seven distinct car models packed into the three-minute long trailer. That’s more recognizable cars than we got to see for the entire 2 hours+ length of the Fast and Furious spinoff, Hobbs and Shaw.
So, what do we have?
First, there’s a drifting Ferrari 488 Pista right at the beginning, you know, to get us in the mood. Then a bunch of Range Rover Sport SUVs congregate around a Lamborghini Urus to protect whoever is inside from the enemy chick getting out of a Rolls-Royce Ghost.
Then, we get to see a couple of other Range Rovers being chased by fighter jets, and then a MINI getting squashed by a falling body. The entire trailer concludes with an epic, albeit extremely short, all-Italian chase between a Maserati Quattroporte and a an Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio.
And not just any alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, but one painted is such a bright green it both hurts and delights the eye.
We dare you to name more cars in Hobbs and Shaw.
