Alfa Romeo may have already introduced the Giulia, but their engineers were spotted on the Nurburgring yesterday, putting the 510 HP Quadrifoglio Verde through its paces. And yes, you adrenaline junkies, the sedan looks just as tail happy as you’d imagine.
The Italians hit the ‘Ring on August 19 during one the industry pool days, lapping the track in two Giulias. As it sometimes happens with development cars, the engineers didn’t bother taking the camouflage off, despite the car having already been revealed. Heck, the Giulieta Quadrifoglio Verde has even been spotted on the street during the filming of a commercial.

Forget lap times, as you might recall, the Nurburgring has enforced speed limits that currently make minced meat out of cool telemetry data. Nevertheless, the 510 rear-wheel drive Alfa was being pushed to the limits of grip and a bit beyond.

You can see the sedan pivoting and aside from the entertainment this provides, it shows just how nimble the Giulia is. The times when the car steers after full-force braking moments or vibrator-hitting episodes are simply delicious to watch and make us lust for the Italian temptress even more.

And that’s not all. The deceleration looks mighty, while that engine can easily be labeled under “music”.

While we’re at it, we also want to share a piece of wishful thinking with you. Yes, we know, Catrinel Menghia has gone down in marketing history as Abarth’s scorpion lady, but just imagine an Alfa Romeo Giulia commercial featuring the Romanian-born Italian model. If you’ve just read that and now have a raised eyebrow, perhaps this video will make thinks clear.

On a more serious note, Alfa Romeo is making all these efforts because the Giulia QV has quite the competition to face. Sure, its aroma will easily dismiss the ice-cold style of the Germans, but it must also keep up in a straight line with Mercedes' twin-turbo monsters.
