50 Vehicle Pileup on Swedish Bridge Injures 18, Claims 3 Lives

A massive pileup recently occurred on a bridge in frozen Sweden, which involved no fewer than fifty cars and trucks. The large scale crash took place in the town of Skane, which is located around 80 km or 50 miles out of the larger town of Helsingborg.
The exact location of the incident was the Tranarps Bridge, which is close to the southern tip of the country. The temperature outside was a chilly -13 degrees Celsius, and apparently the pileup happened because of heavy snow, fog and possible iced up roads.

A total of 18 people were injured in the crash, and 3 people died.

This goes some way to show just how bad things can get when the weather takes a turn for the worst, and when you combine fog, snow and ice with a bridge on which somebody is bound to brake out of panic, you have a real recipe for disaster.

At least no vehicles fell off the side of the bridge, which while it may not have been particularly high, it was definitely high enough to make the death toll even higher.
