420 HP BMW 1M Goes Up to 250 km/h Like a Raging Bull

The limited-run BMW 1M Coupe is a great car in itself. A small coupe with inline 6-cylinder engine making 340 HP and 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque? What more could a BMW old-school fan wish for?

A manual gearbox? It has that too. Perfect weight distribution? Check! Limited slip differential? Of course! Everything’s there to make your life both more enjoyable and shorter if you’re not careful.

Unfortunately only 6,331 units of the now iconic car were ever made and, out of that bunch, many of them were transformed into various ‘monsters’ due to their brilliant chassis.

Such a perfectly tuned car couldn’t’ve been missed by the tuners. Therefore, plenty of crazy projects started showing up here and there, some people even going so far as to replace the engine and transmission altogether. They got an 800 HP freak but we’re not interested in that.

What we are interested in is a car with 25% more power than the stock model. Not too much but not too little either, just as it should be. That would be the case of the 1M showcased in the video below, created by the guys from Auto Racing.

They took the 3-liter twin-turbo engine up to 420 HP and 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque, numbers that would make even today’s M3 and M4 models tremble a bit. Could all this power really be useful? We don’t really know... Why don’t you check out the video below and tell us you opinion afterwards?
