410 HP Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG Gets Smoked by Tuned BMW 1M Coupe

The Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG (or should we call it Mercedes-AMG CLA45 now?) is a quite controversial model. It’s fitted with the smallest block the AMG division ever laid its hands on and has incredible power outputs.

However, most of the people admit that it might be a little too much and that refinement is simply gone from the cars fitted with it because you can actually feel that little engine working its heart out to keep up.

That’s all well and true but for some people, it simply isn’t enough. Tuning companies can take the output of the 4-cylinder up to even more impressive heights, over the 400 HP threshold. That’s a lot for a 2-liter, no matter what some might say.

The car in the video below is one of these tuned beasts, boasting with 410 HP according to the video description. However, it simply wasn’t enough to keep up with the BMW 1M Coupe it’s going up against.

To be fair, the Bimmer uses a 3-liter inline 6-cylinder engine with two turbochargers and, in stock guise, makes 340 HP and up to 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque. This one, however, was tuned with a custom ECU map, new downpipes, intercooler and cold air intake.

We don’t have an official number but guessing by the way it destroyed that little Merc, we’re guessing the wheels have to handle around 450 HP at the very least. Oh, and it’s a manual, of course!
