This is stufe 2 (stufe means stage in German but we like to use it like that because it sounds funny) available for the engine. It consists of a new intercooler, a modified inlet manifold, a sports exhaust system and of course ECU reprogramming. All that grunt costs €4,499 and will propel the Mcchip RS to a top speed of 278 km/h, compared to the standard car’s 260 km/h.
However, if 401 HP is a bit too much for your taste, for 799 € you can have the stufe 1 tuning package, which only includes ECU remapping and will bring 345 HP and 520 Nm of torque to your right foot. Should you make full use of them, your RS will eventually reach 271 km/h.
Now, we have a question... How insane is a hot hatch with power figures that exceed those of the previous generation BMW M5 (400 HP 500 Nm)? And that’s insane in a good way. We also have another question. The engine’s output has been increased by 33%, but what about the vehicle’s brakes and handling? We know that Mcchip-Dkr is a well known tuner, that it has TUV certificates for its products and also offers up to 3 years of warranty for its products (you do have to pay for that), but we still think that without a pertinent answer to the latter question, the stuffe 2 Mcchip Focus RS is insane... in a bad way.
