The standard Toyota GT 86 is a perfect daily driver sportscar, with the automaker having found the perfect balance of power, reliability, price, looks and fun factor. For those bothered by the coupe’s power output, we have two words - turbo kits.
If you’re planning to take your GT 86 / Scion FR-S more often to the track, you could spend some extra cash on an aftermarket supercharger kit which could increase the power over 300 hp using the right parts.

Such a kit comes from French tuner Monstaka, which can trick out your GT 86 to crank around 400 hp if you’re willing to pay them €7,000 without labor costs.

Now, considering the stock Toyota GT 86 comes for around €30,000 in Europe, this might sound like a steep price for budget racing. But the video bellow will show you what the kit is capable of.

The tuned GT 86 got tested on Magny Cours Club track in France, where it did a 1 minute 23”75 seconds run, just 0.02 seconds slower than a BMW M4, which by the way costs €72,500 there.

The kit must come with a custom exhaust too, because the sound it makes is absolutely stunning when comparing it to the stock mufflers. Crank up the volume and check the video bellow for a sample. You’ll also see at the end some other hot cars this 400 hp GT 86 managed to outrun on the track.
