U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued the recall campaign number 13-263 for at least 260 Husqvarna motorcycles.
According to the safety agency, the specific bikes recalled may show a throttle cable malfunction which can in turn, cause riders to completely lose control over the speed, possibly leading to crashes and injuries.
The recalled Husqvarna closed course/competition off-road motorcycles include the 2013 versions of the CR125, WR125, WR250 and WR300 models. Consumers can verify the year of manufacturing by checking the vehicle identification number (VIN) on the right side of the steering head. In case the letter in the 10th position of the VIN is the letter D, their bikes are a 2013 model and must be serviced.
Husqvarna dealers will make all necessary repairs for free. Consumers can also get in touch with Husqvarna Motorcycles toll-free at (888) 985-6090 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or using the online service and clicking on Support/Aftersales for more information.
CPSC reminds consumers that it is illegal to resell or attempt to resell a recalled product.
