The past weekend was quite busy for Moto2 and Moto3, as the first entries for the 2014 season have been submitted ahead of the Gran Premio Aperol di San Marino e Riviera di Rimini. So far, no less that 37 teams expressed their desire to take a shot at glory in 2014, with more expected this fall.
The 37 teams proposed a total of 65 riders, as follows: 20 Moto2 teams summing up 33 riders, with some 32 more from the 17 teams submitting their entries for the Moto3 class.
As the grids for these 2 classes are obviously smaller, a selection will be made by a special Committee comprising delegates from Dorna and the International Road Racing Teams Association (IRTA).
The teams provisionally accepted have until October 11, ahead of the Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix at Sepang to provide a security deposit to guarantee their entry and also provide confirmations for the proposed riders.
An additional selection will be made at Sepang, with further details available after the Malaysian round. So far the 2013 Moto2 and Moto3 grids have 19 teams each.
