360-Degree Video of 2017 Impreza Interior Released by Subaru in Japan

"Dynamic x Solid" is the motto for the all-new Subaru Impreza, released in Japan earlier this week. It will only go on sale this September, but it's already blowing up into a huge story.

In a way, the Impreza does as much for the Subaru brand as the Golf 7 did for Volkswagen. Like the German hatch, it's the first car to be built on an all-new modular platform, and the level of quality ihas been pushed by two generations.

Subaru took advantage of the recently released 360-degree video feature on Youtube to release its first one. Just like Renault did a few days ago, it's made the interior into the main focal point.

There's a lot going on in there, so let's start from the middle. On higher trim levels, the Impreza will have a two screens, a large one next to the driver and a smaller one for the nav perched on top of the dash. The designers went for blue dials, but they ignored the trend for ambient lighting and digital dashboards.

The design of the automatic gearbox gear shifter is sleeker, and behind it sits a new e-brake and a couple of cupholders. With a black dash, black leather seats, and black doors, the mood is somber but posh.

The steering wheel features thick bolsters and numerous Audi-like buttons. Paddle shifters have even been installed because the CVT can mimic the action of an 8-speed automatic. We also notice carbon fiber trim next to the door handles.

High-tech features aren't lacking at all, as the latest EyeSight Ver.3 system is able to detect pedestrians coming from the side. What's more, the action of the steering wheel dictates where the headlights are pointed on high-end models.
