3,500 HP C7 Corvette Stingray Packs a Twin-Turbo Hemi

The main attraction with this Pro Mod class drag racer 'Vette is obviously found under the new "hood" panel, which conceals a 548 Hemi. Gifted with a pair of Precision 102mm turbos, the V8 delivers a 3,500-horse punch.

With the turbos being housed in the nose of the crossbreed and the exhaust tips sitting just aft of the front wheels, this is one Corvette that has come far, far away from what GM engineers intended for the platform. The rest of the tech package includes a three-speed tranny, while the billet solid rear axle was mandatory.

Interestingly enough, the mid and rear parts of the body, as well as the roof, still come from the production car. Among others, this means you can still remove the top panel and let the wind rearrange your hair, obviously through the massive cage, at north of 200 mph.

The guys who built this Chevy also seem to have a keen sense of humor, as, for instance, the VIN is still visible at the base of the windshield.

This is the kind of prepped surface contraption that hasn't been built with the budget threatening to require corner cutting maneuvers. As a result, we are treated with sweet details such as carbon fiber doors. However, given the overly wild nature of the project, many people may tend to miss such bits and pieces.

The clip below shows the Hemispherical Corvette doing its thing at the drag strip for the first time. Despite this, the Chevy managed to deliver respectable results, staying true to its Hemi.
