The first week of May brought the start of the Allgau-Orient Rally that features 41 BMWs, one MINI Cooper and over 200 more contestants. The whole point of this rally is to raise money for charity foundations that will help children around the course the cars have to follow.
Reaching Istanbul this weekend, one of the challenges the contestants had to overcome was to create the world's longest ever convoy of children's cars. The total number reached 274 at the end of the day, all of them being MINI Baby Racers, a model created especially for this event.

The miniaturized cars were handed out to all participating teams at the start of the rally, in Oberstaufen. They then set out for a trip across southern Europe to Istanbul. From here they will set out for Ankara and then the southern Turkey where a ferry will pick them up and take them to Haifa, Israel, on their trip to Jordan, where the finish line awaits them.

All the cars will be auctioned for charity and all the proceeds will go to foundations in Jordan. The MINI Baby Racers will be given to needy children along the route, to bring a smile on their faces.

The attempt will shortly be registered in the Guinness World Records, raising the value of the cars involved in this wonderful rally thus increasing the amount of money that will be collected for the charitable foundations.
