The drag racing season keeps delivering staggering stunts, with the latest move of the kind coming from a Lamborghini Huracan.
Before we move any further, we have to mention that we're dealing with a twin-turbo incarnation of the Sant'Agata Bolognese machine, one that now packs up to five times the factory output.

The Huracan, which has been given a thorough tech massage by TT specialist Underground Racing, now delivers around 3,000 horses at the crank. The factory dual-clutch tranny is long gone, with the V10 heart of the beast now using a sequential gearbox.

During a recent half-mile event, the Lambo managed to climb all the way to 257 mph (its actual velocity sat at 256.99 mph), which is a world record.

If this tale sounds a bit familiar, it's probably thanks to the fact that the car beat its own record. The Huracan, which is owned by Kuwait-based team Drag965 and was manhandled down the airstrip by Gidi Chamdi, became famous back in May, when it hit 250 mph.

For the record (no pun intended), we'll mention that the world's fastest street car-based machine is a first-generation Ford GT. The Blue Oval machine managed to hit 293.6 mph while attending a velocity gathering back in March.

The best part of the adventure we have here is that you're looking at a fully loaded street car. So yes, the interior is still there and so are the AC and the navigation system.

And thanks to the Huracan being the friendliest model in the history of the Raging Bull, this monster can actually be driven on the street.

The Lamborghini Huracan has become so popular among drag racers these days, that you get to see boosted examples of the Italian exotic everywhere. For instance, the female half-mile record, which sits at 210.67 mph, was set using an 1,500 hp version of the V10 beast.

Worlds fastest 1/2 mile car at 256.99! This is a fully loaded street car. The owner could drive this Underground Racing Twin Turbo Huracan across the country if he wanted. Special thanks to the entire Underground Racing team, including Proline Racing, Harry at Precision Turbos, John Reed. Great driving as usual from Gidi Chamdi Thanks you Mohammad @ Drag965 for letting us build this monster for you! - #undergroundracing #UR #UGR @KCHoweth #twinturbo #lamborghini#gallardo #huracan #aventador #lp560 #lp570 #lp700 #lp720 #lp610#spyder #roadster #audi #r8 #ferrari #audi #r8 #superleggera #v10 #v12 #dag965 #turbo #car #shiftsector #race #halfmile
