We are talking about Red Victor 3, a mutated version of Vauxhall’s original 1967 Victor FD, which uses an 8.8 liter twin-turbocharged GM V8 engine that delivers no less than 3,000 hp.
The vehicle is still in the development phase, but the Red Victor team that built it expects a quarter mile time of 6.5 seconds@240 mph. The team’s last project, Red Victor 2 achieved a quarter mile top speed of almost 200 mph and needed 4.8 seconds to reach 158 mph from a standing start. And you know what the interesting thing is? The Red Victor 3 is a street-legal car.
The vehicle will appear at the festival to celebrate the partnership between Vauxhall’s performance VXR division and the Red Victor team for the 2011 MSA Pro-Modified Drag Racing Season.
The event will also see former Vauxhall racing driver offer a top show. They will be joined by Paul Swift, who will perform multiple stunts with a Vauxhall road car.
In addition to that, the festival will raise money for Help for Heroes foundation and will allow owners to lap the Silverstone track in their cars.
"Vauxhall’s VXR Power Events, which has run through 2010 to raise money for Help for Heroes, reaches its zenith with the two-day Power Festival at Silverstone this Bank Holiday. Thousands are expected to attend the event, which aims to raise further funds for H4H through high-octane activities like 0-60 challenges, autotesting, karting and VXR track tuition with pro-drivers. VXR and Vauxhall V8 owners can even pay to take to Silverstone’s famous track in their own cars," stated the press release.
