We were reporting you that Lexus Spain will celebrate the automaker’s 25th anniversary by offering a cool Special Edition 2014 IS F Sport model this summer. Well, the car just broke cover in Madrid and it seems to be that model caught earlier with duct tape over its badges that everyone thought its the new F version.
And we were also right on the fact that this “special edition” is only a 2014 Lexus IS F Sport wearing a TRD pack, so there’s nothing special that the automaker did for it.
All those fancy body parts, including spoiler garnishing, side skirts and trunk-lid wing, along with those shiny exhaust tips, 19-inch rims and a retuned suspension with extra reinforcing member braces, can be already purchased for around €9,500 ($12,200) straight from the tuning company.
So the only “special” bit about this special edition is a grayed-out hood, which you can also do at any wrapping shop for far more less cash than they are charging.
Of course, for your average Joe, the special edition 25th Anniversary IS F Sport might work pretty well, but the connoisseurs might have another opinion after the price for this little jewel will be revealed.
In other news, the Lexus RC F already appears to have received newly designed rims, with more spokes than ever. We can’t say for sure if they’re available for Spain only now, but what we know is that the previous design with straight and directional spokes was far more interesting than this.
