A truly heartwarming story reached our collective ear today, coming in from the UK. One loving father that was also an avid Mini Cooper fan back in the day, bought a 30-year anniversary car for his sons back in 1989.
So far so good, right? Well, not really. You see, back in 1989, his boys were babies, having just been born. Their father’s plan was to offer the limited-production model to them as a gift when they turned 21. What he didn’t take into account was just how tall the boys would end up all those years later.

As it turned out, they outgrew the car and just couldn’t fit inside. Their father was then forced to put it up for sale, even though, it was never driven or even registered.

Looking on the odometer, an interested customer will realize that it has only 13 miles on it being basically mint for its age, being kept in storage in perfect conditions.

The car is now being sold for £18,000. You might think that’s a big sum but, considering its age and the fact that it’s one of only 3,000 anniversary models ever made, you might want to think again. According to the seller, it also comes with an original handbook wrapped in its original packaging.

According to the Mini Club leader, David Hollis, the price tag is not even that big, considering what prices some people are asking for their vintage models.

“Classic cars are going through the roof at the moment. We are looking for around £18,000 but it may be worth more. We are seeing Minis go for £20,000 or even £30,000,” he said.

In that case, for a classic car hunter, this one is a bargain. With only 13 miles on the clock and having never been registered, it’s hard to find a better deal these days. Furthermore, with the ever rising prices for such models, it could also be a very good future investment.
