The world of drag racing packs some amazing street car-based speed behemoths and we're here to talk about one that has gained a host of delicious upgrades this year.
Ladies and gentlemen drag racers, meet the latest incarnation of the Unicorn Corvette. We're talking about a C6 that has been taken extremely far from the setup it received from the factory.
And, given the way in which its massive pair of turbos stick out through the hood and the overly fat rear tires, this is no sleeper. Sure, it also has less visible tech goodies, such as a generous nitrous setup.
We're dealing with a demon that, thanks to the new setup, packs no less than 2,400 ponies. However, when it comes to such cars, the magic is all about putting all the power down.
Despite its otherworldly output, the C6 failed to meet its 200 mph velocity target, coming pretty far from it. And, to help you get an idea on how little trust you can put in such a car's max power number, we'll remind you of Barney, the twin-turbo Viper we recently showed you.
Packing a "mere" 1,900 hp, the early Dodge Viper we're talking about managed to almost hit 200 mph in the half-mile shenanigan.
Even so, we're convinced the D3 Engineering crew behind the Hoonicorn 'Vette project is ready to do whatever it takes to get their machine up to the desired velocity value. So we'll probably get to talk about this mean contraption again in the future.

So, what was this extreme Corvette's way of putting its speed-related abilities to the test?
And the Unicorn 'Vette took part in the recent Texas Invitational event in order to put its hardware to the test. Alas, it seems the machine still needs plenty of tweaking before it can deliver the expected results.Despite its otherworldly output, the C6 failed to meet its 200 mph velocity target, coming pretty far from it.
