If you watched 2013's summer blockbuster Elysium, chances are a Nissan GT-R from the year 2154 caught your attention. And even if you didn't, the 140-year old relic from the future probably popped up on your radar somewhere else.
Today we have a real treat for both fans of the car and the film, as Canadian tuner SR Auto Group managed to get ahold of the battered and scarred machine in order to fit it with some custom wheels. The photo shoot that followed is nothing short of breathtaking, a clash between modern shape and over a century of rust, abuse and graffiti.

Not just any wheels will do when you're dealing with something that looks like it's been built for the zombie apocalypse. To match the car, PUR Wheels' 2WO set had to be coated in a layer of fake rust, but is still the shiniest piece on the whole vehicle.

The R35 GT-R is the coolest high-performance car Nissan has ever made and it enjoys a cult following. But costing at least $100,000 in America today (€95,000 in Europe), "Godzilla" is more of James Bond ricer than slum car. And yet in the year 2154, even the poorest citizens of Earth can afford it, provided of course that they can keep it on the road.

This is not the only bit of product placement in Elysium. A futuristic luxury spacecraft adopts the Bugatti badge in the movie and the power-augmenting armor Matt Damon's character uses is a "Kawasaki".
