Few street racing crashes manage to look sillier than the one we're here to discuss, with a Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster having recently been involved in such an accident, which took place in central London.
The Superveloce Roadster, which was reportedly being driven by a 20-year-old student, was racing a Bentley Continental GT at the time of the crash, as you can see in the video at the bottom of the page.
The footage brings what can be described as a typical street racing scenario, with the Lambo and the Bentley taunting each other while going from one traffic light to another.
Despite the Superveloce's obviously superior sprinting abilities, its driver seems to switch into the wrong gear (keep in mind that we're dealing with a paddle shift gearbox), which temporarily leads to the Conti getting ahead.
The 750 hp Raging Bull eventually passes the Crewe Grand Tourer and, despite apparently having plenty of room in front of it, doesn't manage to stop in time. As such, the Aventador SV Roadster rear-ends a Vauxhall Astra and a Mercedes-Benz S-Class that were waiting for the traffic light in front of the Lambo to turn green.
While we have no official details on how the accident took place, the action in the clip leads us to believe the young driver of the Aventador SV Roadster got distracted after passing the Bentley and thus didn't use the full deceleration abilities of the carbon fiber brakes until it was too late.
The impact was rather serious, causing hefty damage to all three vehicles. As far as the Lamborghini was concerned, the rollover bars of the Roadsters were activated, as you'll be able to see in the post-crash Instagram picture below.
Perhaps the only positive side of this story comes from the police report following the accident, which states nobody was injured in the crash.
