Having received a modest refresh about a month ago, the BMW 2 Series Coupe is now getting ready to launch in worldwide markets. The company's Australian arm has said that it will introduce the facelifted model in the last quarter of the year, yet it has already dropped the pricing and specifications for the local market.
The lineup consists of two trim levels (not counting the M2): the 230i and M240i xDrive. The former acts as the entry-level variant and it kicks off at AU$76,900 (equal to US$51,815). How does it stack up to the Audi A3 Sedan, which is one of its biggest rivals in the segment? Well, the latter is way more affordable, as the automaker is selling it with a drive-away price of AU$59,462 (US$40,065).

BMW's 2025 230i Coupe features 18-inch alloys, adaptive LED headlights, M Shadowline with extended contents, M highlighters, M Sport Brakes, M Sport Package, front sports seats, Sensatec upholstery, ambient lighting, anthracite headliner, digital radio, driving assistant, and a hi-fi sound system. The Live Cockpit Professional is also included, alongside adaptive cruise control with stop & go and many others.

Choosing the 2025 M240i xDrive means coughing out at least AU$99,900 (US$67,315). By comparison, the rivaling Audi S3 Sedan starts at AU$86,870.10 (US$58,535) and the Mercedes-AMG A 35 4Matic Sedan can be ordered from AU$99,006.54 (US$66,710).

This model brings all of the above and then some. The latter part comprises the Adaptive M suspension, glass sunroof, Harman Kardon audio, Vernasca leather upholstery, M Sport seats, heated steering wheel, M Sport differential, and the usual aggressive styling, albeit not that aggressive to step on the M2's toes.

Some of the options include the Enhancement Package, M Sport Package Pro, various paint finishes, including some from BMW Individual's portfolio, different alloy wheels, fresh upholstery and trim, etc. These vary depending on the selected model. The same goes for the pricing, too.

But what powers the 2025 BMW 2 Series Coupe family? Well, a 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-four when it comes to the base 230i flavor. This engine produces 190 kW (259 ps/255 hp) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, enabling 0-100 kph (0-62 mph) in 5.8 seconds, which is very impressive for a base grade.

The superior M240i xDrive adds a rear-biased all-wheel-drive system for improved grip and uses a 3.0L TwinPower Turbo inline-six. The motor is good for 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) of torque and 285 kW (387 ps/382 hp), and this model is even quicker, dealing with the 0-100 kph sprint in just 4.3 seconds. Both cars use an 8sp Steptronic Sport automatic transmission.

BMW's Australian arm has also detailed the 2025 M2 for the local market, and you can read all about it here.
