The second-generation Volkswagen Tiguan has been in production since 2016. As a result, it is an aging product in today’s fast-moving auto industry and will get a replacement in the near future.
We don’t know many things about its successor, but you can bet your bottom dollar on the fact that it won’t look anything like the one pictured in the gallery above. That's because you are looking at overenthusiastic renderings signed by kdesignag on Instagram.

But how did the pixel artist come up with these digital illustrations? Quite easy, actually, as he used the body of the Porsche Macan, modifying the front and rear ends. These sport familiar styling cues inspired by other modern Volkswagens, and give the design proposal a very futuristic flair.

Back in the real world, spy shots have revealed that the 2024 Volkswagen Tiguan will have a slightly taller nose compared to its predecessor, as well as fatter wheel arches, and rounder lines on the profile. At the rear, it kind of looks like a smaller version of the Touareg. It has a much cleaner styling overall, and fake exhaust tips incorporated into the diffuser.

Besides the visual updates, the all-new Tiguan is expected with a slightly stretched wheelbase, which will open up more legroom for passengers sitting on the rear bench. Other reports claim that it will have a bigger overall footprint over the current one.

Officially, we don’t know anything about the engine family, though one thing seems certain: it will still comprise internal combustion units, perhaps some of them soldiering on from its predecessor, albeit with the usual updates that will make them more frugal, and less polluting. The unveiling date is another big unknown, and while some think it will debut next year, others say that it will premiere in 2024.
