2023 Ferrari Purosangue Decloaks Its Rear, Unofficial Lambo Cues Are Not Welcome

Lamborghini has roamed the high-performance sector of the ultra-luxury SUV niche alone for almost half a decade. Enough is enough, said Ferrari, reeling up their Purosangue answer.

Expected sometime this year, if all automotive stars align perfectly, Ferrari’s first-ever SUV will allow the Prancing Horse to finally give replica to ultra-posh super-SUVs. Bentley or Rolls-Royce are not exactly in the crosshairs. Maybe not even Aston Martin. But Lambo’s Urus certainly is.

Now, as even Purosangue prototypes fitted with their production bodies are still clad in meaty camouflage, it remains to be seen if the high-performance luxury SUV retaliation is a positive or negative one. Frankly, if we are to take the digital world of virtual artists for granted, right now it gives us mixed feelings aplenty.

As far as the pixel master hidden behind the superrenderscars account on social media is concerned, at least. Not long ago the CGI expert decided to jump the gun on the Ferrari Purosangue presentation with help from prototypes that were caught by intrepid spy photographers. And, although we cannot hear the distinct, not-so-elegant yet still amazing twin-turbo V6 sounds while cornering flat, we can still be visually appalled with it.

After the virtual artist set on a journey of rediscovery of previous digital creations, now it’s time for the CGI uncamouflaged Ferrari Purosangue to show us its meaty rear end. Take this with a heavy dose of salt, as it’s still anyone’s guess if this unofficial design will pan out or not. As far as our own two cents are concerned, we sure hope it stays as far as possible from the actual truth.

This is because the CGI expert’s interpretation of the possible Purosangue rear gives us way too many sharp, Urus-inspired cues. And the diamond-cut lines certainly do not bode well for the traditionally fluid styling of a Prancing Horse. They suit Lambo’s design credo, and that’s about all. No need to copy it...
