Genesis has made the GV80 more appealing for the new model year by giving it new features, including seating for six, wrapped in a special package that’s limited to the all-wheel drive models in Australia.
Adding a AU$13,500 (equal to US$9,694) premium regardless of the selected trim level and powertrain, though it's not offered in the base model, the 6-Seat Luxury Package, which is its official name, features captain’s chairs for the second row, with power-sliding function, wing-type headrests, and one-touch rest mode.
The seats are separated by an armrest that offers additional storage space, wireless charging pad, and integrated controller, and attached to the front seatbacks are two 9.2-inch HD touchscreen displays, with dual headphone jacks (hear that, phonemakers?). Additional ambient lighting enhances the overall experience when driving at night.
The Luxury Package for the five- and seven-seat versions of the GV80 now gets 18-way power adjustment for the seats and Ergo-motion functionality for those sitting up front. This costs an extra AU$10,500 (US$7,540) over the recommended retail price of the crossover and is offered across the range, like the matte paint finish that will set customers back another AU$2,000 (US$1,436).
Other novelties include the upgraded front brakes, previously reserved for the 3.5T, intelligent speed limit assist, and recirculation mode plus functions. The graphics for the AR map have been enhanced, the blind-spot collision avoidance assist mirror icon was changed to a triangle, and the lane following assist steering wheel logo is new too. The rear doors also feature unlock buttons, in addition to the previous lock-only function, and the cupholder design for the second row was changed as well.
The powertrain family still comprises the rear-wheel drive 2.5T, and the all-wheel drive 2.5T, 3.0D, and 3.5T. Pricing Down Under starts at AU$92,000 (US$66,061), AU$97,000 (US$69,652), AU$105,000 (US$75,396), and AU$109,500 (US$78,627) respectively. These are all manufacturer’s list prices and do not include delivery and on-road costs.
