General Motors is preparing to have a field year in 2021, and chief among its star contenders is the Chevrolet Bolt EV family. That’s because the company is diligently paving the way for not just the refreshed electric hatchback, but also the Bolt EUV crossover.
The latter has already been teased on quite a few occasions, the latest being a social media trick of the TikTok variety. Back then, we saw the new LED lighting signature of the Bolt EUV, after the brand previously showcased other parts of the little high-riding EV.
Based upon all evidence acquired so far, the good folks over at TopElectricSUV.com have compiled all information into a new computer-generated image depicting the side profile of the Bolt EUV. According to the unofficial render, the new EV comes with different styling traits compared to its hatchback sibling.
They’re clearly designed to reinforce both the connection to the expanding Bolt family and the SUV world, with beefier protections and a sweeping shoulder line that cuts deeply into the greenhouse towards the rear. It’s probably going to be costlier than its Bolt sibling, too, so the render features a host of premium details, including trendy alloy wheels and chrome trim, among others.
We should probably prepare for the curtain to fall in the near future because a new report from Bloomberg mentions Mary Barra, GM’s CEO, among the opening keynote speakers for the 2021 Consumer Electronics Show that kicks off exclusively in digital format on January 11th.
According to the provided information, Bara will “provide a peek of upcoming electric vehicles at CES,” so the Bolt EUV has big chances to get some primetime alongside other novelties such as the Silverado-sized Chevy BET pickup truck, Cadillac models, and vehicles from other brands.
Whether or not the Bolt EUV will be chief among the CES features is not particularly important because GM is not going to postpone its official unveiling too much. The new electric crossover is scheduled to hit the assembly line this very summer.
