2022 Buick Enclave revealing teaser
In an automotive world that’s constantly abandoning passenger cars, Buick’s home market lineup is a clear example of U.S. customers' tendency to mostly choose crossovers, SUVs, and pickup trucks. Naturally, the brand’s flagship is a three-row premium crossover SUV, the second-generation Enclave.
With the arrival of the Buick Envision to slot in the compact segment, the second-generation Enclave – which premiered back in 2017 at the New York Auto Show – moved upmarket to better compete with rivals such as the Infiniti QX60, Volvo XC90, or the Acura MDX.

It’s been a while since it did so, which is cause for General Motors to signal the impending arrival of the facelifted 2022 Enclave for the U.S. market. The changes – at least the ones bestowed upon the exterior of the SUV – have been previewed with a “first look” that should provide a taste for what is coming later this year when the refreshed model reaches dealerships.

According to the company, the 2022 Enclave has been designed to “continue Buick’s momentum,” and this sneak preview of the uncamouflaged crossover brings forth a “more modern, expressive design.”

Unfortunately, just two images were shared at this time, depicting the updated SUV from the front and back. We’re not getting a look at the interior just yet, nor Buick is giving away any of the specifications.

The seven-seat premium SUV will be fully revealed at a later – yet undisclosed – date, so we just have to be patient and wait for what Buick has in store for its flagship vehicle. As far as the exterior design is concerned, the upgrades do cover all the basics.

Up front, the 2022 Enclave is arriving with a much larger grille and slimmer headlights. The brand’s signature chrome strip is doing the opposite, as it’s bulkier and now stretches almost across the entire width of the front fascia.

There are visible changes to the lower area as well, the most obvious being the new placement of the fog lights. The side profile doesn’t seem to have changed as much, and at the back, we’re clearly seeing a fresher set of taillights.

By the way, the official photo description signals we’re looking at the 2022 Enclave in top-of-the-line Avenir trim, so there could be other changes for the rest of the grades as well.
