The muscle car of small German sedans is almost here. We're talking about the 2022 Audi RS3, embued with the power of the quattro gods and, it seems, a weapon from Porsche as well.
Our spy photographers captured this interesting new prototype that's got the upper part of the body completely uncamouflaged. This reveals an interesting shade of acid green paint, which resembles that of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS in the background.

And we don't mean it resembles the Porsche a little; no, it looks exactly the same under direct sunlight. Is this the same Kyalami Green offered on the RS Q3 or something new? This isn't the first instance where the two brands started resembling when it comes to their shades. Here's a 2018 Porsche 911 GT3 in Nardo Gray. Also, there's Riviera Blue.

The old RS3 sedan was a pretty aggressive-looking machine, but this generation takes things to new extremes. You can easily spot all the flared out body elements, which will probably increase the price significantly. Also, the air intakes are gigantic, even when compared to the recently released S3 models.

The stance is also lower and the 20-inch wheels look like they're almost touching the fenders. The largest oval exhausts in the segment are connected to a new version of the iconic 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbo engine.

We believe the TFSI will receive at least a small increase in power of about 10-20 horsepower. Only time will tell if this is enough to compete with the CLA 45 S (or A 45) from the land of the AMG. The drag races should be pretty close, though.

Inside, the RS3 should have bucket seats, optional carbon trim, and a sports steering wheel with a drive mode selector added. Expect the full reveal around the middle of next year with U.S. deliveries at the end of 2021 or in early 2022.
