September or October 2020 is when the Hellcat V8-engined muscle truck is entering production according to dealerships. Recently informed about Rebel TRX allocation for the 2021 model year, the dealers are also expected to mark up this truck like there’s no tomorrow.
Mopar Insiders also highlights that the Rebel TR has been shelved. The free-breathing brother of the Rebel TRX was supposed to introduce the Banshee 426 HEMI with 7.0 liters of displacement and more suck-squeeze-bang-blow than the 6.4-liter we all know and love.

As opposed to the concept, the series-production Rebel TRX is expected to level up from 575 horsepower to 707 horsepower, just like the Trackhawk. That’s 717 PS converted to the metric system, complemented by 645 pound-feet or 875 newton-meters of torque at the very least.

Don’t, however, expect the Helltruck as we like to call the newcomer to feature a six-speed manual transmission. The ZF 8HP95 torque-converter automatic from the Trackhawk will have to suffice, a transmission that copes with 900 Nm (664 pound-feet) of maximum torque. Featuring a wider track than the Rebel based on spy photos, the Rebel TRX also features a plaque that lists the displacement of the IHI twin-screw supercharger (2.4 liters).

Developed in collaboration with a Detroit-based company, the off-road warrior will also differentiate itself from the rest of the Ram 1500 lineup with the help of heat extractors and a hood scoop, a dedicated instrument cluster, and coil springs of unknown origin painted in blue.

But wait, there’s more! Instead of a rotary shifter above the driver's right knee, the Rebel TRX houses TRX Mode controls, a LAUNCH button with a Christmas tree motif (drag racing, anyone?), 4WD controls, axle lock included. This means that Ram could have relocated the shifter to the steering column or the center console, but nevertheless, it’s a different affair from Ram’s outgoing half-ton lineup.

Initially planned to be revealed in June at the 2020 Detroit Auto Show, the Ford F-150 Raptor rival could be treated to a second competitor from Chevrolet. Rumor has it the 2022 model year Silverado 1500 will receive the ZRX nameplate and a supercharged small-block V8, but then again, the LT4 plays second fiddle to the Hellcat engine. Although the chances are slim, some people suggest the Silverado ZRX may actually get the LT5.
