The capital T model has evolved into a machine that can rival supercars while being perfectly suitable for the role of a daily driver. And if the greater breath of ability demonstrated by the 992 Porsche 911 Carrera S is any indication, the 992 Turbo will up the ante in terms of both velocity and coziness.
With the Porscha having been showcased in a leaked photo earlier this year, the machine is set to make its debut in the coming months - note that the car in the leaked photo is expected to sport the optional Aero Package.
Meanwhile, engineers are polishing the final details of the Zuffenhausen toy. So it's no surprise that the prototype here was spotted in the proximity of the Stelvio Pass in Italy, which is one of the best driving roads in the world (not better than Romania's Transfagarasan, if you ask Jeremy Clarkson, though).
We could see Porsche axing the 3.8-liter twin-turbo flat-six of the current car in the race to meet ever-stricter emission rules. After all, Porsche has recently introduced an all-new N/A flat-six for the 718 Cayman GT4 and 718 Spyder, with this being loosely based on the TT 3.0-liter that animates the Carrera S.
Regardless, the 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo should deliver at least 600 horsepower. And since the eighth generation brings wider tracks and superior aero, we could see the newcomer blitzing the Nurburgring in under seven minutes, which should also be true for the 992 GT3.
As for the Turbo S, the badge could morph into the Turbo S E-Hybrid, as it has happened with the Panamera and the Cayenne. Nevertheless, this move might be reserved for the ".2" mid-cycle revamp, which is three to four years away.
