2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S Is the Quickest Porker on Hockenheim, Beats 918 Spyder

With all the focus shifting on the electric Taycan lately, the 2021 911 Turbo S came just in time to give a fresh breath of force-fed air to those Porsche fans who feared the ICE age was coming to an end.

The performance figures of the S are just incredible, and bear in mind they are Porsche specs, so we all know what that means. The German company is famous for understating the capabilities of its vehicle in the official charts - for reasons known only to them - and the Turbo S probably makes no exception.

We've already seen the turbocharged 911 smash the Taycan Turbo S in a head-to-head drag race in the most convincing manner, with the drivers of both cars exclaiming "oh my God!" quite a few times. Also, we've seen the previous generation make minced meat out of a modified Nissan GT-R in a similar challenge, and back in 2018, it had no problem beating the Tesla Model S P100D in a quarter-mile race.

It almost sounds as though the 911 Turbo S can't lose, and while that's obviously not true, it does give an accurate impression of just how freakishly fast this thing is. And the best thing is that you would never guess it just by looking at it.

If drag racing isn't your thing and you prefer the good old racetrack with bends and all, the 2021 Porsche 911 Turbo S has got you covered as well. After beating the Taycan Turbo S in a drag race, the 911 Turbo S proved its supremacy on the track as well setting a new record on the Hockenheim circuit for any Porsche model, 918 Spyder included.

The all-new Turbo S driven by experienced pro Christian Gebhardt didn't just beat every other stablemate (apart from a modified 911 GT3 RS, but that doesn't count), but some pretty fierce cars from the competition as well. A McLaren 600LT and a Mercedes-AMG GT Pro both took longer to complete the lap in the hands of the same driver, confirming what was already becoming pretty obvious: the 911 Turbo S is one of the most potent cars you can buy right now.
