2021 PaxPower Alpha Challenges the Ford F-150 Raptor With 770 HP from a Blown V8

Currently listed from $53,455 before destination charge, the Raptor has been discontinued for the 2021 model year because the Ford Motor Company is gearing up for a top-to-bottom redesign next year. Be that as it may, there’s a tuning company in Houston, Texas that’s much obliged to modify the F-150 into a Raptor-rivaling truck for $18,950 including labor.

Enter the PaxPower Alpha, an aftermarket package with OEM parts that starts with the trim level of your liking, the 5.0-liter Coyote V8, SuperCrew cabin, and the 5.5-foot (1.67-m) bed. First things first, the bone-stock suspension is replaced by A-arms, springs, and Fox shocks from the Raptor. In order to make room for 35-inch rubber wrapped around 17-inch wheels, the tuner went for 3.0-inch-wide fender flares on every corner of the truck.

Cool decals and a dual exhaust system round off the list of upgrades, but there are a few options we need to mention. As you already know from the title, PaxPower is capable of extracting 770 horsepower from the V8 engine with the help of a Whipple. The 3.0-inch supercharger is running at 8 pounds per square inch of boost to deliver this level of performance, and being a Whipple, the blower isn’t exactly cheap at $12,450.

The (for now) rendered truck is also rocking a light upgrade, sports bar, and a heavy-duty steel bumper that should serve you well off the beaten path. Given that the 2021 Ford F-150 XLT with the eight-cylinder engine and 4x4 is available from $50,000 or thereabouts, the most affordable Alpha build would cost $70,000 excluding the supercharger kit and other options.

For that kind of money, you could pick up a Ram 1500 TRX with a few desirable extras on top of the destination charge and gas-guzzler tax. The craziest light-duty pickup out there doesn’t mess around when it comes to suck-squeeze-bang-blow thanks to the Hellcat V8 we know and love from the Dodge brand. In this application, the 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI delivers 702 horsepower and 650 pound-feet (880 Nm) of torque at the crankshaft.
