The restyled 2021 Nissan Armada was introduced a little over a month ago, but despite making public pretty much everything else about the new full-size SUV, the Japanese manufacturer omitted to mention one very important aspect: its price.
The 2020 model started just over $47,000, which was enough to conveniently place it under the MSRP of its main competitors on the U.S. market. With the world going crazy over SUVs and the Americans favoring large cars in general, this segment has never been more crowded: the Chevrolet Tahoe, its GMC Yukon sibling, the Ford Expedition, and the Toyota Sequoia are all after a piece of the pie.

With the recently introduced facelift, the 2021 Armada received a much-needed tech infusion that keeps it relevant next to the two GM models launched last year, and even Ford's Expedition that is more recent by just one year but manages to hide its age a lot better.

Nissan ordered a significant overhaul of its large SUV that targeted both the exterior styling - the designers worked on the grille, hood, front fenders, front and rear bumpers, LED headlights, and taillights - and interior amenities. The most notable updates to the cabin include the 12.3-inch high-resolution central display for the infotainment unit, 7-inch display in the instrument cluster, and smartphone connectivity through Apple CarPlay (wireless) and Android Auto (wired, because... who knows?).

Adding all these new standard features without tweaking the asking price would be akin to black magic, so it's natural to expect a bump. Luckily for the Armada, the $47,100 MSRP of the 2020 model left plenty of wiggle room before stepping on the competition's heels, and Nissan managed to keep the entry point for the new Armada below them.

So, the 2021 Nissan Armada S 4x2 will go for $48,500, with the most affordable AWD model - the Armada S 4x4 - starting at $51,500. The $3,000 difference between the 4x2 and 4x4 versions is maintained for all trim levels (S, SV, SL, and Platinum). That means the SV will cost either $52,500 or $55,500, depending on the traction option, the SL $55,900 or $58,900, and the Platinum $64,900 or $67,900.

According to Nissan, the basic S trim level is going to be available later on, forcing clients who are looking to buy one sooner to opt for a more expensive option. The destination and handling fee is $1,395 on all models.
