In 2019, British carmaker MINI unveiled the John Cooper Works GP, the highlight of the company’s lineup of cars and at the same time the fastest road vehicle ever to wear the MINI badge. And now it's time for the entire JCW range to get that unique GP look thanks to a new styling pack.
This is not a mere aftermarket optional extra, but something the carmaker will fit from the factory on MINI JCW variants in an attempt to transfer the “aura” of the GP “to the road and to everyday life.”

So, what are we going to see starting this July, when the pack begins its rollout? First, a Racing Grey metallic paint on the body, contrasted by Melting Silver metallic on the roof. Then, JCW rear spoiler and mirror caps, black hood scoop, door handles and fuel lids, and 18-inch alloy wheels with GP badge on the caps.

Inside there is a leather-stitched steering wheel with metal shift paddles to control the 8-speed transmission.

There are also a host of accessories that can be specified as part of the GP pack, including side scuttles, a tailgate handle in stitched carbon, and a black waistline finisher. For the interior, options include a JCW shift knob and hand-brake grip in carbon fiber with Alcantara gaiter.

“The entire pack content is perfectly harmonized with the design and character of the MINI John Cooper Works,”
said the carmaker in a statement.

“The content was developed on the basis of expert know-how gathered in the white heat of the race track, which has assisted all the models of the John Cooper Works brand to achieve inspiring performance, and is derived directly from the development process for the new MINI John Cooper Works GP.”

MINI will not tamper with the powertrain fitted on the JCW, meaning performance levels would remain the same, a tad under the capabilities of the true, limited edition GP.

Pricing for the GP pack was not announced. Full details can be found in the press release section below.
